Pho Dau Bo Restaurant welcomes you to their dining room. They are open at night all week. You can get there by public transit and bicycle and visit them in a neighborhood acknowledged as stimulating.
When you come in, the staff seat you and bring over a pot of Jasmine tea to drink while you look over the menu (iced during the summer months). Pho (soup) is ready almost instantly; other dishes take a little bit longer. I'd suggest sticking with pho or a rice vermacelli dish if it's your first meal here. I've rated the service a 9 because there seems to be about a 50/50 chance of the entire party's orders arriving at the same time, especially when it's busy.
The pho and vermacelli dishes are both excellent but the reason I keep coming back is the spring rolls. Someone in our party writes down a large order of spring rolls as the first thing we do when we've been seated - they're 101 on the menu. Even my picky Aunt loved them.
In terms of drinks, the shakes are great. Mango is a standby favorite of mine but if you're looking for something different and tasty, give the Jackfruit shake a try. I usually order a fresh lime juice with soda and ice as well - very refreshing.
I have yet to have a meal here that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. I usually eat here at least once a month even though I don't live in the city.

Food was top notch, a shame that the people that work there do not speak or understand english all that well or else I would have been able to order everything I wanted. I did not order all I wanted for fear of getting the wrong stuff. I would eat there again but would probably bring someone with me who speaks the language so I can actually get what I was actually gonna get...
