I even had my graduation lunch here after I finished university. The atmosphere is clean and beautiful, restaurant is fabulously decorated. My wife and i came here for a night out. We had been recomended the Brew Table by the concierge at the Holiday Inn down the street. We had the steak frites and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the service was the best i have ever recieved anywhere. An amazing dining experience all around from appetizer to dessert. The vegetables have been spectacular both times and like I said before, the presentation is pleasing. The house wine (by the glass) is decently priced and quite good. It is a bit pricey though. I've had the pleasure of experiencing multiple sushi restaurants in Ottawa, but 168 Sushi in Merivale by far stands out from the rest in regards to the variety available and quality of taste. My fiance and I recommend this location to our friends and family, as well as taking advantage of their fast and effective delivery service. The buffet at both lunch and dinner is reasonably priced and it is very easy to get your money's worth out of the food. Personal Highlights: -Miso Soup -Curry Chicken -Mango and Crab Rolls -Pork Dumplings -Salmon Roses The restaurant feels more like a night-club than a sushi buffet, but I have grown attached to the overall atmosphere. The service sometimes forgets to bring an item on the card you fill out once in a while, I recommend filling out one card per table for everyone instead of having each person fill out their own card at the same table to make it easier for the chefs (which you get to watch prep the food). The Writer's Festival provided the opportunity to visit this restaurant twice in one week. What strikes one immediately, besides the very loud fountain by the door, are the warm and welcoming smiles of the staff. I was famished when we arrived at 5:00 PM. When our food came, very quickly after we ordered, I though that the servings seemed awfully small. Our meal arrived piping hot, the Jasmine Rice was wonderful, fresh and light and the Pad Thai and shrimp dish were very beautifully presented and very colourful. I am very much a foodie and I want a restaurant to give me an experience I am unable to create in my own kitchen. What Talay Thai provides is food that is a riot of flavours – seemingly five to nine distinct flavours flowing over your taste buds simultaneously. It works and I am now curious as to how I can recreate these multiple flavour sensations in my own kitchen. Our second meal was exactly the same as the first. Warm greeting, quick but unrushed service (great for pre-theatre or event dining), deceptively small looking servings, but incredibly tasty, attractive and filling food. We choose another shrimp dish, this one made with coconut milk and a tofu and vegetable dish. Everything was perfectly cooked and what is most striking about the food is the sense that every ingredient is incredibly fresh. Both meals were delivered to our table at their peak of perfection. As we arrived early there was plenty of free parking adjacent to the restaurant. This is the perfect place to shift from work to relaxation mode. With their quick service Talay Thai is also an ideal place to eat if the next part of your evening includes getting to your entertainment venue, well fed all while feeling unrushed. Read more

I have been to Oz many times since it opened and I am never disappointed! The lychee martinis are what brings me in, but the food is really delicious as well. The cheese plate is great for snacks...often I go with a group of people and we just order a bunch of plates to share (edamame another one of our favourites).
